There’ll be performances from Cirque du Soleil, an e-gaming championship and more
The Mother of the Nation Festival is coming to Abu Dhabi, for 12 days of performances, workshops, restaurant offers and a captivating show by Cirque Du Soleil.
The fourth edition of the festival will kick off on Tuesday March 12 and coincides with the Special Olympics World Games, which will see more than 7,500 athletes from 192 countries descend on the capital.
The festival pays tribute to the living legacy of the original ‘Mother of the Nation’, HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and President of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood.
The campaign will embody the Year of Tolerance through a number of activities held along a kilometre stretch of Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.
There’ll be live music and performances across the duration of the festival, as well as art exhibits and interactive workshops, in addition to the newly introduced Special Olympics Zone.
There’s also good news for gamers, who can take part in an e-sports gaming championship in the Progress Zone, while the Happiness Zone returns with a tonne of fun activities.
Cirque Du Soleil will be putting on jaw-dropping performances of their production, called Bazzar, from Wednesday March 6 until Saturday March 16 on Yas Island, with a troupe of acrobats, dancers and musicians bending and flexing like it’s no-ones business.
We can’t wait for the festivities to begin.
