Qasr al Muwaiji is an impressive structure that has watched over the oasis for around 100 years. It was built in the early years of the 20th century in the time of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa the First by his son Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Khalifa. After Sheikh Khalifa’s death, the fort passed to his son Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa. Visit Timings Monday: Closed Tuesday – Thursday: 9am-7pm Friday: 3pm-7pm Saturday: 9am-7pm Amenities and parking Parking including disabled access is available on-site for the public, tours and school groups. Parking arrangements for school and large tour groups must be made in advance. Guided and self-guided tours A variety of tours are available including options for families, tourists and school groups. Advanced bookings are required for schools and groups larger than 10. Audio guides are also available until one-hour before closing time at the reception desk. All children under 5 years old must be strictly accompanied by an adult whilst in the exhibition building. No strollers allowed in exhibition building. No food or drinks allowed in exhibition building.
